What is hollowing dark souls?

Hollowing in Dark Souls refers to the process by which the player character gradually loses their humanity and becomes more and more undead. Each character in the game starts with a human form, but as they die or use a certain item called a "Humanity," their humanity counter decreases and they gain hollowing levels.

As a character becomes more hollow, their physical appearance changes to reflect their undead state, with their skin becoming more pale and their eyes turning white. The effects of hollowing also include a reduction in maximum health and the inability to summon other players for assistance.

To reverse the effects of hollowing, players can use a "Humanity" item to become human once again, or they can engage in co-op play and successfully defeat a boss to restore their human form. There are also special story events that can reverse hollowing permanently.
